I just love this for very obvious reasons:
And also, this:

I love how Dave asks if everyone is alright at the end.
Okay, I just posted the video because I love it so much and it makes me so very happy. AND it was filmed in New Zealand. That's just a bonus. After I posted this video, though, I thought about something else that made me exceedingly happy, even joyful, yesterday.
My good friend came over to go on a walk with Olive and me. We were planning on a hike, but geesh! You just can't imagine the mud! So, we instead took about a 4 mile hike on the local Rails-to-Trails trail in my neighborhood (I am pretty lucky about that). I wish I had thought to take a camera, because Olive was so happy she could hardly contain herself! Not just Olive, but every one of the GAJILLION dogs out on the trail were loopy and peeing themselves. I think I might have peed myself a little, too. This winter has been hard. And depressing. A nearly 70-degree, sunny afternoon was just what I needed and I think Olive did, too.
After the walk, my friend and I enjoyed some Black Velveteens on my back deck. OUTSIDE! In March! That might have been when I peed myself a little, actually. Cider and Guinness, outside! and a pooped dog flopped at our feet. Awesome!
This morning when I thought how I wished I had captured the look on Olive's face (and all those other dogs), I saw something that was almost exactly the look I would have captured:

Every face. Just like that, sans snow. Good luck on the Iditarod, doggies! Have fun and be safe!
Do you own all the albums of any particular musical artist or group? Who?

One missing:

I never bought Liars. I have heard it, but I think it's the first time I decided not to buy something from Todd.
In the 80s I could certainly have been called a groupie, as I saw him in many venues on the West coast. I have seen him twice here in the Midwest, and I am never disappointed at one of his live shows. Never.
I wanted badly to see him on his recent tour with Joe Jackson (another favorite of whom I own nearly all of his musical collection), but they never quite made it to my neighborhood.
I think I have them all:
I have a sampling of Split Enz, but I have every solo album of Tim Finn and Neil Finn. I also have the whole catalog of Crowded House. My preference for all things Finn has also influenced my pre-US release purchase of Liam Finn's introductory release (mentioned here previously).
I'm working on completing this collection:
Close. So close.
Finally, a full moon. I was wondering when it would show up. My life has been in Full Moon Mode for more than a few weeks, let me tell you (actually, don't let me tell you because it's far too weird).
Times like this, for me, are opportunities to accept small victories graciously. It is important to focus on the small things that are (or can be) under my control, as opposed to sinking into the sea of unknown and uncontrollable. What can I control?
I finished my second fuzzy green glove last night. Good thing, the weather should be cold in, what, 6 months?
I took the first of two exams used for my entire semester grade for one of my summer classes the other day. While it's not satisfactory to me, it's nearly an A. Being an art student makes it hard for me to adjust to less subjective grading at times, but I really wanted to ace that one.
I have made arrangements to go out for live music this weekend. That is something I used to do with great regularity, but I have gotten away from it in recent years. Well, that and I have a rather bad reaction to cigarette smoke. Imagine how happy I was about two years ago to go see the Finn Brothers with no smoke. I am sorry Neil had to make the special request because he had the flu, but it worked out to my advantage. Trivial comment: I tried to get close enough to Neil to actually catch the flu from him, but I only managed an autograph from him (and Tim, too) on my liner notes from ENZso. It's one of my favorite cds of all time. Tim looked at it and asked me where I got it. Odd.
Tonight, I will make sure to get outside to look at the Full Moon if it's not raining or clouded over. It's good to know that there is a possible explanation to seemingly strange things. As for control, I hope I can maintain it and maybe, just maybe, lose a little of it at the right time.
Listening to this right now, and it's hard to control my urge to sing:
