It was a busy and exciting weekend. Beautiful weather, really, if not a wee bit too cold Saturday Night (can't help the link, sorry).
I have no pictures to post, as I was too occupied with other things to document all over the place (I'll get some documentation, soon, though).
I have Multiple Anxiety Disorder today - yes, I just made that up - here's my week in a nutshell:
Today: Move my office for the second of three times by August
Tuesday: Vote Obama!!! Oh! And then go get a root canal.
Wednesday: Pick up any work not chosen for Friday's opening at school.
Thursday: Um, yeah, just work. Also, keep working on my couture piece for (gulp!) next month!!
Friday: Back to the dentist. ALL DAY. Then to the Opening at school that will hopefully include something of mine.
Saturday: Oh. My. It's EDDIE!!!
Sunday: Sleep ALL DAY. Okay, none of my critters will allow that, but I doubt I'll ever get out of my jammies.
Incidentally, The Greatest Spectacle in Racing is quickly approaching, and I would be crazy not to point out the World's Greatest Name (in sports, or anywhere):
Will Power. Unbelieveable!
Weird, wild stuff.
I am happily slammed with work, schoolwork, artwork, kitty antic adjustments and general getting-up-in-the-morning responsibilities. Some notes on my week so far:
BARACK OBAMA continues to build my admiration for him. He also continues to cause fits of emotion I am still figuring out how to manage.
Yes, we can!
School is cool. After my spring break break, I am back at it and trying to coordinate my schedule with work (2 jobs now) and school, and getting homework and anything else that's necessary (including sleep) in the 24 hours I am alotted each day. Sleep isn't suffering at this point, but I am mostly going to bed early to be warm and to calm the critters down. When that happens, homework tends to suffer. We'll see... The news the other night said that lack of sleep makes you fat. THAT's the culprit! I knew it wasn't cheese and beer!
Blatant Begging. My etsy shop remains sparse, with the occasional order for a commissioned tiny painting. Yesterday, I found a fellow etsy vendor that really made my day. I am posting a link to her etsy shop here, and posting a picture of something I really, really want, but would probably not purchase for myself. That said, anyone want to get me an early birthday present??

Harold and Maude finger puppets! Are you kidding me!?! This gal's clearly a genius. She makes all sorts of finger puppet sets from her favorite movies, musicians, politicians, etc. I mean genius. I want to go to her house for puppet shows! Harold and Maude are currently on my imaginary wish list for any gift-giving occasion. Lloyd Dobler would be pretty nice, too (back off, Bossy!).
Late addition to my post: I want to see this movie as soon as it's released. The Visitor.

That's all for now.
I have a bit of a Girl Crush on Amy Poehler - and it's not just because I could put her in my purse and take her with me wherever I go. And I'm just guessing she smells like lavender. I especially love her on Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. Say what you will about the current cast, compare them to the Jane Curtin/Dan Ackroyd/Gilda Radner era if you want to, but that cute-as-a-button Amy Poehler is too funny to miss. On the current incarnation of Weekend Update, Amy and her co-anchor, Seth Myers have a segment called, "Really!?!" I don't know if every one is funny, but the few I have seen are hilarious.

So MY Really!?! moment came last weekend. I pedaled my pink bicycle up to the village to meet a friend and her daughter for coffee. The daughter is two, so she just had juice. At any rate, I presented my friend with a Barack Obama campaign button which she immediately pinned on her sweater. At that, this politically aware person of two years said, "I need one of those." Really!?! Living here in the very red midwest, I must say to this young political activist, yes, you DO need one of these. Really.
This weekend was a great time, too. The weather was really warm, but it allowed for a little bicycling and general schmoozing about on said bicycle, plus I got a little lawn work done on Saturday while Olive played with her latest canine houseguest, Dash. On Friday, my dear friend was telling me about her family's plans to be out of town all weekend. When I asked her about Dash, it was really because I wanted to put him in my purse and take him to my house for the weekend anyway (move over Amy Poehler!). So Dash got in my car, not my purse, and Olive had company for the weekend. Great.
I also saw George Carlin on Saturday night. No surprises. George was true to form and I enjoyed laughing at him as much as listening to the people around me reacting to him. The audience was certainly perfect for people-watching.
Yesterday I invested in my very first roll of super-duper-primo-quality drawing paper. I bought a 10-yard roll of 42" wide Rives BFK. If it wasn't so expensive, I swear I would sleep on it. I briefly considered naming it as I petted it and placed it ever-so-gently into my car. So it smacks of misplaced maternal instincts... I haven't seen you walking in my shoes lately.
Really.
