QotD: First Celebrity Crush

Who was your first celebrity crush?

This is scary. I remember having a Bobby Sherman poster that came out of a box of Super Sugar Crisps. Our family was rarely allowed to eat sugary cereal, so why we had the cereal in the first place is a mystery. Could I have thrown a fit to get the Bobby Sherman poster? Geez! I hope not, but that studded leather choker he wore could certainly have caused at least a little hissy fit.

I also remember having a crush on Elton John. Given all I know about Elton John today, I still have a crush of sorts on the old Elton John. In the 1970s, before he sold out to the motion picture industry, he was awesome. I still like listening to his old music - even his recent collaboration with Bernie Taupin is remniscent of his former greatness.

All the girls in my neighborhood had a crush on one or both of the Cassidy brothers -  David and Shaun - and I was no exception. I was a bit of a snob from an early age, I guess, because I would be hard pressed to admit having a crush on anyone for whom I would have to get in line.

I still go for the underdog. Crushes today, maybe? Todd Field: will you marry me? Eddie Izzard: will you consider a torrid affair with me? It need only be a physical thing. Plus, I might want to borrow some of your lipstick.
