Itchy Feet = Wanderlust
I am getting really anxious to go camping. I'm sure it will be a welcome excursion for Olive, too. Our last trip was a quick overnight on December 23rd. It was cold, but just a hint of what the Midwest had in store for us as the winter dragged on. I remember setting up the tent in the wind and it was cold. Climbing into my little Kelty Zen at the end of the day with the wind whipping around outside was awesome. Waking up to find a layer of frost on the tent was even better! Hiking during the two days was muddy, but nice.
Kelty Zen. No longer made, but if you find one used, buy it!
Recently I treated myself to a new cookstove, too. I haven't had a chance to use it, but I am looking forward to it.
Mine doesn't have the ignition button, but I figure it's one less breakable part.
I'm considering a quick overnight again sometime next week, when my schedule is only work and I'm on Spring Break from school. My Dad keeps encouraging me to try a place up near where he lives, and I just might take him up on it. He loves to hike with Olive, too, so I'm happy to share her with him if we can synchronize our calendars.
I'm feeling a bit ambitious about what I can accomplish if I keep working on my art projects over my break from school, but a quick mental health break won't disrupt that too much, I'm sure.
