Draw Something EVERY Day
I recently saw a friend of mine in the student lounge at school while I was scrambling not to be late to class after work. She was drawing her pencil sharpener. When I asked her what she was doing (like it wasn't completely obvious), she told me that one of her instructors advised her to draw something every day. That's something I don't really have to force myself to do, but I find that the longer I am an actual art student, the more automatic it becomes. Times when I might have picked up a knitting project (and I still have many WIP), I will get my sketchbook. Sometimes I will sketch Olive on a 3x5 card. Well, not sometimes, a LOT of the time, actually. Maybe I'll make a collage of her soon with the stacks of sketch cards. Mental note taken.
On the previously-mentioned Super Sunday, I worked and worked on my large charcoal drawing. I have since carted it in for critique and back home for more work. I'm very pleased with it and will possibly post a picture of it here soon. Mental note: Book shooting studio. I have a new project in my head and plan to get it started this weekend. What with sub-zero temperatures and 5 or so inches of snow on the ground, it will be good to stay inside and work.
Let's see... do I have enough beer for the weekend? Sure. People who know me know that when it comes to beer, it's all about quality, not quantity. My general rule for beer is that if you can read through it, I won't drink it. Unfiltered? Good. Dark, malty ale? Good. I guess I'll be drawing a Boddington's tonight. I know for sure that I have some of those!
